2025–2026 · Strategy, Identity, Web & Film · Goodthings

A brand launch for an AI company stepping into public view. I led the Goodthings team across positioning, identity, web, and film, setting the creative direction and animating key sequences for the launch.

The Brief

A first impression that holds together

Scala helps call centers understand the performance of human and AI agents. Coming out of stealth meant introducing both the company and a complex product. The positioning, identity, website, and film needed to give people a clear sense of what Scala did and why it mattered.

I guided the brand team, editor, and animators through that launch, reviewing the work as it moved from early ideas into finished pieces. The challenge was to give the technology a character that could carry across the whole experience.

The launch film. A Goodthings team production under my creative direction. The motion explorations and excerpts below are my animation.
The Concept

A sense of weight

The Scala mark suggested a form pushing outward into space. That became our starting point: blocks that could stack, step, and expand, giving shape to ideas like progress and growing capacity.

I wanted the movement to feel precise and physical, like machined pieces sliding together with a little resistance. I explored that feel with the team, then built and animated the extrusion setup in After Effects. It gave us room to play while keeping the film and website recognizably part of the same brand.

Process

Finding Scala’s character

Pulse concept. The first thing I built. The heartbeat the brand motion grew from.
Extruded cubes. An early exploration of the forms and movement that became Scala’s geometric world.
In Motion

From identity to launch

Logo animation. Exploring how the mark could move and transform.
Radial grid. Taking the same geometric forms into a different composition.
The hero shot. Bringing the shapes into a larger, more expressive space.
Suite of tools. Using the geometric forms to tell a product story.
The Launch

A complete introduction

The launch brought positioning, identity, website, and film into one public introduction for Scala. The motion gave the team a set of forms and behaviors to carry between the site and film, while leaving room for each piece to do its own job.

The Reaction
"IT's AMAZING! You guys are the real deal! FYI I wanted to use some curse words to describe my excitement but didn't want to be unprofessional."
